VIVACE ORCHESTRA CAMP offers string players ages 5 to 19 the rare opportunity to work with and perform alongside top professionals and our amazing team of music educators. Students play with professional winds and percussion in thrilling full symphonic orchestra repertoire. This year we have larger facilities, a state of the arts concert hall, and many more rooms. Participants are assigned based on audition to one of three ensembles so that they can be met right at their ability level with their friends.
With daily recreation and enrichment activities planned, VOC seeks to provide a safe, fun musical environment where young “stringers” can make friends and love symphonic music! Join all your old favorite coaches and conductors in our sixth year. See the 2019 Schedule for full details or click on our Getting Started page to start the simple audition and enrollment process today.
Application deadline for all participants is May 31. A non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration ($100 for all orchestra schedules). Fees are non-refundable after June 30. Registration is on-going until filled. Select instruments may be filled prior to or after the registration deadline depending on instrument availability. Enroll soon to save your spot. Once your instrument section is full all other applicants will be turned away. We are now accepting enrollment applications for all string instruments and ensembles:
Orchestra A – $400
Orchestra B – $300
Orchestra C – $200
We also accept enrollment applications for Enrichment Classes only. Select from Youth Chorus, Cello Choir, Fiddling, Bass Workshop or Beginning Orchestra (Mom & Tot String Class ages 3-9) – $70 (note: An enrichment class of your choice is included with all three orchestra schedules). Enrichment classes are from 12:30-1:30 each day and your choice of one class is included with the Orchestra A, B and C.
In addition to affordable tuition rates, select applicants may qualify to receive a scholarship award. Limited scholarships are available for financial need, talent as well as family discounts (3 or more participants in LMFY from one family). In order to place you in an orchestra and offer you a scholarship to our camp you must submit your digitally recorded audition; see audition requirements. To be eligible, students must submit the scholarship application by May 31st. Scholarship applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis so it is in the best interest of the applicant to apply as soon as possible. Scholarship awards will not exceed the amount of tuition and only one scholarship may be redeemed. Scholarships cannot be used on enrichment class only registrations. Receiving a scholarship does not guarantee a chair in the Festival. Scholarship recipients are under the same instrumentation restrictions as other applicants as all seats are filled on a first-come first-serve basis. Scholarship applicants may register paying only the $100 deposit and wait to pay the remainder of the balance until they are notified regarding the status of their scholarship application. Scholarship applicants whose participation is contingent upon receiving a scholarship should apply early and wait to register until they are notified regarding their scholarship application. The $100 deposit collected at registration is NON-REFUNDABLE. Fees are non-refundable after June 30.
We also have some scholarships for students of parents who are willing to help with the festival:
- Librarian
- Daily/Games and Activities
- Daily Lunches for Faculty
- Piantest for Orchestra C
- Set Up on Monday Morning before Vivace
Please contact Festival Director if you are interested in one of these jobs that offer scholarships. We can offer a scholarship in your name if you make a donation to the LMFY scholarship fund! You can donate online The donation needs to be noted as a scholarship. Scholarship applications can be emailed to (Email).
